Client Evaluation and Testimony

Letters spelling the word 'feedback' stamped in black ink on brown paper

There is no therapy without my clients trusting me enough and bringing all of themselves to therapy.

I put a lot of effort into building a good relationship with clients. I offer regular reviews to ensure we continue to have a focus in our therapy work together and that we are going at the right pace. I’m grateful for the excellent client feedback I continue to receive. I am thankful for the therapeutic work we do together. The relationship that I build with my clients continues to be the key to good outcome for both my clients, and myself as a practitioner.

I asked clients how important is it for your therapist to be both culturally informed and culturally sensitive:

Here are my client’s testimonies:

“Chai-Yoel is a fantastic therapist. They have supported me through some difficult times over this past year. They have provided me with a safe space to explore painful experiences, without fear of judgement. I feel I have a better insight and understanding of myself and my experiences and feel on the way to being more stable within myself, and I hope to become stronger in expressing my needs and boundaries in the next year, with their help. I have found their ability to work in a trauma-informed and culturally informed way hugely helpful, something that has been missing from previous therapies/therapists I have worked with. Thank you.” BW

“Very thorough and in tune.” CP

“I have found working with Chai-Yoel extremely helpful. Their understanding and insight into issues that affect me as a non-binary person has been invaluable. I find them both empathetic and analytical: they come across as warm and supportive and are willing to talk about practical issues as well as ‘deeper’ ones, while at the same time being rigorous and not being afraid to challenge what I say. I wasn’t intentionally looking for a body-informed / trauma-informed therapist but have found their expertise in this is helpful. Their understanding of creative writing for therapy purposes has also helped me.” EK

“I’m grateful for the ways that you have shown up for me and offered kindness amidst what has and is a rather difficult time. I sometimes find it hard to see or acknowledge it in the moment, but I have noticed and appreciated afterwards even when I couldn’t at the time.” JA

“I have really valued having a queer therapist who is able to understand much of the stress and worries around the context of my work. I have also valued the insights provided into some of the ways I react or express myself in relation to different parts of my personal, activist and working life.” JH

"The different sides of Chai’s identities gave me the confidence from the outside that certain issues arising from my transness, economic or migration status would be given the appropriate weight, rather than become centres of conversation or ignored. The same can be said for addressing issues with my partners and their identities: I felt I could discuss and bring up issues without having to defend my partners or be wary of undue pressures. The social environment in which I live and that I live could be brought in the counselling room because Chai could match and understand the pressures or issues at stake. This was key to overcoming initial hesitation to speak or bring up troubling aspects in the nuance they deserve." MVD

“I’ve had an absolutely fantastical time with Chai-Yoel, they are a great therapist and have gotten to know me well, I can no longer go on deliberate tangents about ‘The Odyssey’ as they immediately put me back on track. Overall, 10/10, would do it again.” NBK

“Chai-Yoel has ensured that our therapy has enriched and enhanced my life greatly this year. I have seen a huge change in my approach to life, self-esteem, and self-image since working with them. Their therapy is trauma informed, consensual, sensitive, and integrative. They offer insightful suggestions and witness the full of me. They have never suggested anything that feels clunky, wrong, ill-informed, or culturally insensitive. They are flexible, warm and their ‘person centred” aspects feel real and consistent and not just an easy descriptor.” RRD

“A kind and caring person, who was always there for me when I needed them. Did their job in a compassionate and understanding way and helped me when I needed it. I’m very grateful.” SG

“Therapy with Chai-Yoel has really made a big difference in my life. I was initially hesitant about coming to therapy, but Chai-Yoel did a wonderful job of actively listening and reflecting, building trust, offering practical strategies, and going at a pace that enabled me to identify issues and work through things in a supportive way. Thank you so much!” SRL

“Working with Chai-Yoel was a truly transformative experience that I will carry with me for a long time, as a source of support to both me and those around me.” TG
